“I focus on making the client’s voice heard, I am accessible in between sessions, and always consider the “whole person” (sleep, lifestyle, trauma, mood, nutrition) when working with clients. Highlighting levity and the strengths you already possess, I use solution-focused therapy to get you traction in your life and to minimize the barriers in your way.”

Cricket is both a therapist and a specialist on adolescents, couples & families at BLND Health in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She is also a specialist on the topic of performing artists and mental health. She works with adolescents and adults on a variety of issues including anxiety, mood disorders, marital/couples issues, family conflict, Trauma/PTSD and personal growth.

She attended NYU Tisch School of The Arts for her BFA in Drama and WMU for her Masters in Social Work. In between those degrees, she took 20 years to live in cities such as Chicago, NYC and Los Angeles before coming back to her roots in MI to practice therapy. As a therapist, she was trained in CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, and Family Systems work but also utilized Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness/Meditation. She is licensed by the state of Michigan as a Masters Social Worker in Clinical Therapy with a Supervisor status.

She currently serves on the board of “Raising Kalamazoo”, an Initiative increasing Trauma Awareness and Resiliency for her community, sponsored by the United Way. They aim to eradicate childhood trauma and increase supports to promote resiliency. She does periodic live videos on “Let’s talk about Suicide” on Instagram as a way to highlight the rapid numbers of people dying by suicide in the U.S. and to promote strategies to help those who are suffering. She serves on the New York University (NYU) Alumni Association and has a special interest in performing artists who seek mental health resources. You can often hear her speak on this topic on Podcasts across the U.S.

Cricket was named by her great-grannie Lillian who said her raspy cry sounded like a “cricket” and it stuck. She lives with her husband, stepson and Goldendoodle in Kalamazoo, MI after having also lived in Chicago, NYC and Los Angeles. Besides therapy, she loves to listen to The Eagles, sing lead in her own classic rock band “Cricket Creek”, make lists, drink ice tea (no sugar), shop on Amazon, watch documentaries and enjoy her family.
