What to Expect From Us
(And What We Expect From You)
There are so many different reasons to consider connecting with mental health and wellness services. Maybe you’re being challenged by life transitions or interpersonal relationship conflict. Maybe you live with anxiety, depression, or trauma, like so many of us do. You might be considering recovery, or maybe you’re seeking support on your journey.
Wherever you are, we’ll meet you there. BLND seeks to help you prioritize what care you need and navigate your concerns and barriers—as well as identify your assets and strengths.
We customize your plan from the start.
We believe that therapy should be co-authored alongside you, whether your care is in-person or virtual. From frequency to location, we make a schedule that clicks with you. We focus on assets. We explore challenges as well as consider all of the roles in your life and the narrative within your story to integrate the whole person into client-centered, client-led care.
Collaboration: We’ll work together.
We’re big on building a strong therapeutic alliance to support your mental health, your personal growth, and your desired changes. We value relationship-centered growth, and that begins with focusing on the match between client and practitioner. We believe the experience should be a pressure-free environment where your comfort and trust in us is the priority. We’ll start the conversation where you’re ready and move at a pace informed and led by you—even if you’re not sure where to begin.
We take an out of the box approach.
Our approach to mental, physical, and emotional wellness is focused on the whole body. We work with physicians, psychiatrists, and other specialists to help you get a full picture of what’s going on in your mind and body. Whether your challenges are neurochemical, hormonal, seasonal, or situational, we’ll work together to help you create healthy routines, gain behavioral tools, and implement healthy coping mechanisms.
A diagnosis or not, we will always deliver person centered care.
We acknowledge that mental health diagnoses and labels can be really helpful for individuals navigating and understanding their own behaviors and mental health challenges. As it is linked to insurance covered services, The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSMV) also does not work for everyone. Its diagnostic system is young in comparison to other institutions; it’s based on the ways that disorders present in heterosexual, cisgender white men. The diagnostic model may be stigmatizing, but its criteria does not need to lead to shame and stigma. Instead a focus on clients’ deficits, we also take into account the person’s environment, obstacles, and intersecting identities from a strengths based, resiliency framework.
