What brings you into the field of social work/therapy?

I have always loved the big questions: What kind of life do you want to live? What makes life meaningful? What does a good relationship look like? What does it mean to be human? It was an absolute joy for me to discover that there was an entire field devoted to helping people navigate these questions.

What are some of your favorite mental health topics right now?

  • RO-DBT

  • Public mental health

  • Whatever the last thing I read about was. I love to learn new things!

What population(s) are you interested in working with?

I have a background in working with folks grappling with strong emotions and troubled relationships, and with folks grappling with obsessive thinking. I hope to continue to be of service to people looking for help with these kinds of issues — along with people looking for help with any other problem.

What kinds of services are you interested in?

ACT, DBT, RO-DBT, and interpersonally-oriented therapies.

Favorite ways to rest?

I love to sit on my couch, get a cup of peppermint tea, get under a blanket, and appreciate all the plants and animals in my backyard.

What do you do when you’re not working and/or in school?

I’m usually meditating, trail running, or overanalyzing movies with my friends and family.

What’s your favorite season/kind of weather?

April! I love a flowering tree.

What are you currently reading/podcasting?

  • Monk & Robot series by Becky Chambers

  • There There by Tommy Orange

  • NPR’s Life Kit

Favorite fun fact about you?

I love to hike! I’ve backpacked a couple sections of the Pacific Crest Trail and Appalachian Trail

What is something that people cannot see about you, that you’d want them to know?

I was born and raised in Boston! Because of this, you can expect me to be a bit more direct than the median American.

If you could have dinner with one person (deceased or alive) who would it be and why?

George Carlin. His comedy was so ahead of its time. The dinner conversation would be hilarious

If you were not a social worker, what would you be?

A biologist, or any kind of natural scientist that gets to go on cool field expeditions to learn more about our world.

What are your values?

Service, compassion, honesty, relationships, self-care, nature, and art.

What does “BLND” mean to you?

Our lives are a blend! We have different ways of approaching our friends, career, family, health, spiritually, etc. Your therapy experience has to be a multifaceted blend, because you are multifaceted.
