Aspen Ankney, MA, PhD Candidate, CMPC
Aspen works with clients to help them achieve performance excellence, to reconnect to the enjoyment they once found in their chosen domain, and reacquaint themselves with their meaningful pursuits of sport, life, and work.

Aspen is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) through the Association of Applied Sport Psychology. She holds a master’s degree in Sport and Performance Psychology from the University of Denver in Colorado. She has consulted with a variety of performers including winter sport athletes, adaptive sport athletes, team and individual sports, and professionals from medical, legal, and business domains.
Aspen has an expertise in endurance and extreme performance, utilizing mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help performers engage in practice and elite competition more successfully. Most recently, she consulted for 6 years with the U.S. Army’s Special Operations Forces, helping Soldiers develop the psychological flexibility to respond most effectively in dynamic and evolving performance contexts. She also specializes in developing performance enhancement strategies for medical communities and helping leaders design training and performance environments which elicit the best skills from their teams.
Aspen is completing a PhD in Exercise Science at the University of Idaho with her research focused on measuring interventions to help organizations understand the impact of incorporating mental skills training.
